IATA Safety Audit for Ground Operations (ISAGO)
As an ISAGO-certified company since 2009, BAS maintains global industry standards complied by all ground handling organisations. BAS regularly assesses operational management and control systems as a ground services provider, meeting best industry practices at all times.
IATA’s Safety Audit for Ground Operations (ISAGO) has established uniform standards pertaining to the activities of these organisations. Due to its diversity, the ISAGO audit is applicable to multiple ground handlers and can be utilized for companies offering services at single locations.
HACCP
Since 2017, Bahrain Airport Services has been an HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) accredited organization specializing in catering services inside the boundaries of the Bahrain International Airport. BAS Catering has a longstanding, comprehensive Food Safety System in place to ensure that the highest level of hygiene, food safety and quality standards are met.
HACCP controls the presence of biological, chemical and physical hazards in the production, handling, procurement, manufacturing, distribution and consumption of various food items.
ISO 22000:2018
The ISO 22000:2018 Food Safety Management systems helps identify and control potential hazards related to food safety while simultaneously working with other ISO management standards, such as ISO 9001. As an ISO 22000:2018-certified organization, BAS Catering extends its catering services to 31 different airlines and ensures that the quality of food produced is safe for global dispatch. With the ISO 22000:2018 requirements in place, BAS Catering continues to maintain a stricter Food Safety Management System that is periodically reviewed by the International Organization System (ISO).
ISO/IEC 20000-1:2018: ICT Service Management System
First certified in 2019, BAS provides efficient ICT services to the company’s ICT helpdesk and onsite technical support to various BAS locations. By meeting the necessary ISO requirements, BAS integrates all necessary policies and frameworks to enable the effective management of all IT infrastructure and services. BAS has built a fully serviceable ICT powerhouse and standardized ICT Service Management System to achieve user satisfaction and expand its overall business operations.
The ISO/IEC 20000-1:2018 equips service providers with all the required resources to improve their service management systems including planning, establishing, implementing, operating, monitoring, reviewing and maintenance.
ISO 17025:2017
As an ISO 17025:2017-certified organization, BAS demonstrates its ongoing commitment to calibration by testing activities competently and generating reliable results to boost its global operations. Having successfully renewed the accreditation for the BAS Calibration & Testing Laboratory, the accreditation also facilitates cooperation between various laboratories to generate internationally renowned results, thereby promoting and improving international trade.
ISO/IEC 27001:2017: Information Security Management System
First accredited in December 2016, BAS is certified in ISO 27001:2013 surveillance audit, showcasing its ability to protect the company’s information from falling into unauthorized hands, as well as maintaining accuracy and assessment from any potential risks by mitigating the impact of any possible breaches. BAS continues to provide up-to-date security information and infrastructure while meeting global industry standards and best practices.
The ISO 27001 certification is a globally recognized international standard for managing risks and the security of information held by organizations covering people, processes and technology.
RA3
BAS is an RA3-accredited company that ensures all its procedures comply with the European Union (EU)’s requirements. Through this certification, BAS ensures the smooth transport of cargo to EU destinations, thereby improving efficiency and the flow of goods from the Kingdom to the rest of the world. With the RA3 certification, BAS is recognized as a regulated agent aligned with the standards of the EU authorities. BAS also ensures passengers have a secure travelling experience to any EU destination.
EASA
BAS Aircraft Engineering Training Center (BAETC) carries an EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency) and provides Line Maintenance Services to more than 18 international airlines. BAETC is an approved Part-147 Engineering Training Organization offering both Part-66 Basic B1/B2 and Aircraft Type Ratings programs. BAETC is one of the first training centers that carries the EASA.147.0002 certification outside of the European Union. BAETC is also approved to conduct Aircraft Engineering Training under the European Union Standards and the certificates to be accepted by the European Authorities.
BAS has also obtained other technical approvals such as from United Arab Emirates UAE CAA, India DGCA, Oman CAA, Turkish DGCA, Egypt CAA, QATAR CAA, Saudi GACA and Bermuda CAA enabling it to carry out line maintenance activities for various aircraft types such as Airbus A320, Airbus A320neo, Airbus A330, Boeing B737NG and Max, Boeing B737 Classic, Boeing B747, Boeing B777, Boeing B787 and Embraer ERJ 170.
