Bahrain Airport Services (BAS) is thrilled to announce that it has been awarded the prestigious “Best Integrated eServices” in the private sector at the eGovernment Excellence Awards 2023. This recognition comes as a testament to the company’s digital transformation strategy, and its continuous efforts to adopt the latest digital practices and optimal employment of technology to improve, develop and increase the efficiency of internal operations, as well as providing high calibre services to the company’s customers at Bahrain International Airport.
Chairman of BAS, Mr. Nabeel Khalid Kanoo accepted the award during the 12th edition of the eGovernment Excellence Awards 2023, which took place at Exhibition World Bahrain. The awards ceremony was held under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Interior, General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa and Chairman of the Ministerial Committee for Information and Communication Technology (MCICT), and witnessed the attendance of a number of ministers, government officials, officials from the private sector, IT pioneers and those interested in the ICT sector from various governmental and private entities, civil society institutions, and the academic sector.
This year, BAS participated with its winning platform, Sawaed, which is an integrated electronic system for managing the company’s external workforce. The platform manages data regarding the external workforce, which consists of over 1.200 employees, in addition to providing a wide range of seamless electronic services to the company’s departments, which in turn enhances the company’s capabilities to perform its services, including ground operations, passenger services, shipping, catering, maintenance and other main operations. Sawaed provides its users with an accessible and seamless workforce database, including their basic data, training records and professional capabilities. The system facilitates the communication process between the company and suppliers to provide the required number of workforce, according to work needs and air traffic at Bahrain International Airport. Sawaed also includes many other features, such as time and attendance tracking, contract management services, and invoice management.

This is not the first time Bahrain Airport Services has been recognized at the eGovernment Awards. In 2021, BAS received the “Best eServices” award for its Security Management System (Shaheen), and in 2019, the company won the same award for its iBAS application, which provides employees with access to vital services and information.
