Bahrain Airport Services (BAS) conducted the first meeting of its Equal Opportunities Committee, led by Eng. Mohamed Khalil, CEO of BAS. The committee aims to create and develop policies and procedures, implement strategies and adopt initiatives to achieve gender equality within the organisation. The meeting mainly focused on the agenda developed by the committee’s secretariat. Committee members addressed operational procedures for their initiatives and the importance of achieving the committee’s goals including integrating working women’s needs within the company. The committee also reviewed the agenda for their next meeting, which will be held periodically. BAS is committed to empowering women as part of its belief in the importance of strengthening women’s role in the organisation, while enabling them to achieve success and excellence by establishing an institutional framework focusing on justice and equal opportunities. The framework ensures that women’s needs are implemented into their working environment such as adopting a flexible work system for female employees that balances both family and work life
