Eng. Mohamed Khalil
Chief Executive Officer
Eng. Mohamed Khalil has an experience of over twenty five years at Board and C-level positions spanning across various sectors including aviation, airport strategic management, commercial negotiation and management, mergers and acquisitions, strategic planning, revenue creation and diversification, real estate design and development in addition to project, construction and contract management.
Prior to joining Bahrain Airport Services (BAS) in 2021 as Chief Executive Officer and Accountable Manager for Safety Management System (SMS), Quality Management System (QMS) and Emergency Response Planning (ERP), he was a Board Member at BAS since 2018 and served as Chairman of the Audit Committee and served in the Nomination, Remuneration & Corporate Governance Committee.
Previously Mr. Mohamed held the position of Chief Business Development Officer at Gulf Air Group Holding (a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Co.) responsible for further expanding the Group’s reach and portfolio, leveraging synergies between the Group’s subsidiaries and actively participating in the formulation and implementation of a holistic group strategy. Prior to that, Mr. Mohamed held the position of Chief Commercial Officer at Bahrain Airport Company with oversight of the Aviation Marketing, Property & Retail, Passenger Services, Cargo, Hospitality and Corporate Communications Departments. Mr. Mohamed has also held prominent positions at GFH Real Estate (a wholly-owned subsidiary of GFH Financial Group), Al Khaleej Development Company (Tameer), Technal Middle East and Bahrain-based consultants Architectural World.
Mr. Mohamed has also served as a Board Member in various other companies including Bahrain Duty Free, SSP Bahrain, BAC Jet Fuel, First Gulf Real Estate KSA, Tamcon Contracting, BIW Labour Accomodation, HCP Architecture and Engineering, and CIRCO Properties and Facilities. He hold a B.Sc. in Architectural Engineering from the University of Bahrain, an IATA Airport Strategic Management Diploma and a Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS) designation from the National Association of Realtors, USA.
