
Traffic Services: Ensuring Seamless Airside Operations
Ramp services are the backbone of Bahrain Airport Services’ (BAS) airside operations, with comprehensive oversight of all airside activities to ensure efficiency, safety, and precision. BAS provides full aircraft ramp handling, VIP and Fixed Base Operations (FBO) handling, load control and dispatch, baggage handling, Unit Load Device (ULD) storage and management, pushback, towing, and headset services, as well as extensive ground support for equipment handling.
Our Ramp Services team also manages operational services, including crew briefing and administration, as well as operating a fleet of air-conditioned buses to transport crews.
Critical to our successful operations are manpower planning and the management of our Operations Control Center (OCC). We support the motor transport services, Ground Support Equipment (GSE) workshop, and line maintenance, maintaining rigorous standards with 24/7 operational readiness. As part of our commitment to quality, we conduct monthly internal inspections and audits of all ramp operations, while annual airline audits provide additional assurance, with detailed reports presented to management for evaluation.
Each month, BAS handles over 2,500 airside operations at Bahrain International Airport, supported by our dedicated ramp services team, which includes:
