Bahrain Airport Services (BAS) and Ethiopian Airlines have entered into a strategic partnership through the signing of a Standard Ground Handling Agreement (SGHA), marking a significant milestone in BAS’s global expansion efforts. This collaboration reinforces BAS’s position as a leading aviation service provider at Bahrain International Airport, aligning with its commitment to delivering world-class ground handling solutions.
The partnership with Ethiopian Airlines, Africa’s largest airline serving a network of 142 international passenger & cargo destinations including 70 African cities, with daily and multiple flights with a minimum layover in Addis, enhances BAS’s operational capabilities and strengthens its international client portfolio. This agreement is expected to improve service quality and operational efficiency at Bahrain International Airport, benefiting both airlines and passengers.
Mr. Zaeem Gama, Chief Commercial Officer at BAS, emphasized the strategic importance of this collaboration, stating, “Our partnership with Ethiopian Airlines aligns with our vision to expand our global reach and continually enhance service excellence at Bahrain International Airport.” He added “The Agreement covers a comprehensive range of ground handling services, including passenger handling, baggage handling, and cargo operations, and ensures adherence to international safety and quality standards, reinforcing BAS’s commitment to maintaining high levels of service and safety in ground operations”.
By fostering this alliance with Ethiopian Airlines, BAS continues to support the growth of Bahrain’s aviation sector and solidify its role as a key player in the region’s air transportation industry.
