Bahrain Airport Services (BAS) has been honored with the 2025 eGovernment Excellence Award for “Best Integrated eServices” within the Private Sector category, in recognition of its Ground Handling Services Management System, “Munawala.” The award was presented to Eng. Mohamed Khalil Ahmed, Chief Executive Officer of BAS.
“Munawala” is a centralized platform that manages and coordinates all aircraft ground handling operations at Bahrain International Airport. From flight scheduling and airline support services to the deployment of technical resources, the system streamlines operations across the board. The platform has significantly contributed to enhance procedural speed, boost operational efficiency, and elevate the quality of service delivered to BAS clients and partners.
Developed entirely by Bahraini professionals, the project underscores BAS’s dedication to quality and reliability in service delivery. The platform leverages state-of-the-art technologies and is designed in line with leading global standards for electronic systems development, cybersecurity, and technical infrastructure.
Expressing his pride in this outstanding achievement, Mr. Nabeel Khalid Kanoo, Chairman of the Board of Directors at BAS stated that it stems from the Board’s forward-looking strategy aimed at adopting comprehensive digital transformation to support the advancement of Bahrain’s aviation and logistics sectors.
